Set the date for your Yellowstone getaway in America's oldest national park
Yellowstone National Park announced the spring opening dates of the lodges within its boundaries this week.
Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel will both reopen on 4th May. Followed by Lake Yellowstone Hotel and the Old Faithful Lodge after 11th May; the rest of Yellowstone's lodges will reopen in subsequent weeks.
The park has many different accomodation options, from camping for the hardy to a selection of historic lodges. Full access to the park itself will start in late April when the roads leading into Yellowstone are largely cleared of snow.
Spring and early summer are a great time to plan a romantic trip to the national park as not only are the flowers in bloom and the trees budding, the park's wildlife is generally most active at this time of year. If you can take your eyes off each other, watch out for newborn bison, elk and even bear cubs.
The park's main geological attraction is the world famous 'Old Faithful' geyser, as well as a collection of other extraordinary geysers and hot springs, and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
