Looking for an alternative way to celebrate your marriage? Dive into the Persian Gulf with the help of a swanky and lavish hotel that's submerged 10m under the sea
luxurious, futuristic-looking resort is to be constructed
underwater off the Emirate's coast, complete with 21 submerged,
mood-lit rooms, a dive
centre and a selection of salt and freshwater pools.
The new Water Discus Hotel's highly innovative design includes two discs: one built above the water level and the other located 10m below the surface. Four perpendicular columns connect the two decks and support three other pods housing a spa, restaurant and special recreation area as well as a helicopter pad, to cater for your every honeymoon need.
Each room will have intimate views of the coral reef, and to make the most of this feature accommodation will be equipped with remote control underwater cameras that take macro photographs of the surrounding marine flora and fauna.
Unfortunately, no information on when the project will be begin nor where the Discus Hotel will be located has been announced as of yet.
But fear not, because it's not the first of its kind. Poseidon in Fiji was one of the first luxury underwater resorts, whereby guests can attract tropical fish to the depths of their 12m-deep pod with the push of a button; fish food is readily ejected to attract the likes of Nemo. The Maldives is home to Rangali Island's underwater resort, featuring a floating golf course and with a submerged nightclub Subsix in the making.
