England’s World Cup dreams may be dashed, but the tournament is far from over. Never fear though ladies, a new survey reckons men pick romance over football

Or so the survey says… Nearly two thirds (59%) of those quizzed by adult toy retailer SexShop365 said they'd miss an important match in the Brazil World Cup if their partner wanted to see them or they had a date. Only 4% admitted that football comes first, while the remaining 37% expected their partners to be watching the matches with them.

However when women were asked what they'd do if their boyfriend or date invited them to watch a match, only 36% said they'd go. Nearly half (43%) said they had better things to do. The rest weren't bothered either way.
A quarter of all men and all women also admitted that, at some point, they had argued with a partner about watching sport. Perhaps it's time to set up the Sky+...
