6 more hot honeymoon destinations for 2013

Still undecided on where to honeymoon next year? We've got 6 more hot honeymoon destinations that will get you dreaming...

1. Kashmir, India

After many years of controversy, the Foreign Office has now given the 'go-ahead' to travelling in Kashmir, making it a hot destination with travellers for 2013. The green light has been given to the cities of Jammu, Srinagar and the region of Ladakh, so, what are you waiting for? Stay in a houseboat on Srinagar's serene Dal Lake, explore Jammu's ancient shikharas and gurdwaras or if you're feeling active, experience the incredible mountain treks through Ladakh.

2. South Island, New Zealand

In June 2012, New Zealand was recognised as the world's largest International Dark Sky Reserve making it 'one of the best stargazing sites on Earth.' For the ultimate astronomy experience, head to Aoraki / Mt Cook National Park on South Island, where the skies are virtually free from light pollution. The area covers 4300sq km, so you're bound to find a secluded spot where you can snuggle under the stars together.

3. Greece

It's been a tough year for Greece but with economical strife aside, the country still remains a place of white-washed sea-side towns, friendly tavernas and secluded islands; perfect for honeymooners. Hop between islands, sip ouzo in Lesvos, relax on the beaches of Skiathos or discover the ancient ruins in Delos. 4. Morocco

Spice up your honeymoon and overwhelm your senses with an exhilarating trip to Morocco. Recently featured in Wanderlust magazine's '50 best new trips for 2013', there's a new road trip, courtesy of Specialist Morocco, to get excited about. It's perfect if you want to add some adventure into your honeymoon - you can venture deep into the Sahara desert and experience the vast Chegaga dunes by camel-back, as well as the breathtaking Atlas Mountains and the craggy volcanic Jebel Sahro.

For a romantic retreat, check out the Kasbah du Toubkal. It's located in a secluded spot and makes the perfect base for either trekking to the Atlas Mountains and Toubkal National Park, or just lying on the terrace sipping mint tea and watching the stars. 5. Colombia

Perfect for those after a honeymoon with a difference, Colombia offers dreamy Caribbean beaches and bustling colonial cities. Tourism has started to build in certain parts of the country, meaning there are plenty of gorgeous places to stay, but the main draw is all about exploring the cracks and crevices that this wonderful country has to offer. Escape the crowds and relax with a traditional cup of Colombian coffee in a plantation village, whale watch along the Pacific coast or for your paradise-beach fix, head to Taroa beach.

Don't forget to look out for Wanderlust magazine's February issue for photogaphs of Colombia taken by the winners from last year's Travel Photo of the Year Competition.

6. Sri Lanka

Sleepy beach villages, mouth-watering curries and home to the largest population of leopard, its no wonder Sri Lanka has become one of the hottest places to travel to in 2013. For wildlife, head to the Yala National Park for the chance of spotting leopard basking in the sun or if it's elephant you're after, then the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage won't disappoint. Vibrant festivals, historic cities and the serene tea plantations in Ella, there's plenty for honeymooners on this seductive island.
